Acne

Having acne from time to time and now having preteens and teens in my house. Finding the right acne treatment for myself and my offspring is a must. You can scavenge the drug stores for product and pay and a nice penny for a dermatologist.

I chose to find home remedies to cut the ever-growing cost of beauty care and raising daughters. Ones that won’t fade or ruin their complexion. I comprised a list of DIY skin care treatments.

Home Remedies

Baking Soda and Coconut Oil:

Both items can be found in your home. Coconut oil is such a great go to as it is very useful. Add 1 tbs of baking soda and 1 tbs of water. Mix. Apply to face and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Wash face and dry. Apply coconut oil on face and leave overnight.

Lemon, Baking Soda, and Honey:

Mix 1/2 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 baking soda, and 1 tbs of honey. Apply to face and leave on for 15 minutes.  *DO NOT SCRUB.

Baking Soda and Distilled Water:

1/2 tsp baking soda and 1,2 distilled water to create a  paste Apply to the affected area for 5 minutes and rinse off. Apply using a cotton swab hydrogen peroxide.

Toothpaste and Salt:

Using a spoon or small tray, add a little toothpaste and sprinkle of salt. Don’t need much as you are only covering the affected area. Apply to blackheads and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse and you are good to go.

Burning Face!!!!:

Don’t let the name scare you. But yes this isn’t for everyone. These ingredients together will reduce uneven skin tones, reduce acne scars, reduce pore size, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and aid in glowing skin.  1/2 tsp of organic cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp raw honey, 2 tsp of fresh lemon juice. mix all together and apply to face for 5-10 minutes. This does give a burning sensation hints the name. So, if you are unable to go the full 5-10 minutes that is ok.

Aspirin:

Use 4 uncoated aspirin with a few drops of water. Mash with fingers and apply to affected areas. Wait 3-5 minutes and wash off. This will reduce swelling and redness.
