Montana is such a beautiful state full of many surprises. I am not being biased because I was born and raised in Montana. This is with pure sincerity. I have traveled all around the United States and even out of the country and seen plenty of states with beautiful scenery and more. But there is still nothing like Montana. I am here to help you get the best experience out of your trip to Montana. Here are 10 things you need to know before you visit Montana.

Do Not Feed Or Touch the Wildlife:
Each year on the news is another animal attack on a tourist. When you decide to visit one of many beautiful parks in Montana you will get to see the abundance of wildlife. That does not give you the right to touch them or feed them. You are in their territory. Respect them from a safe distance. Every time an animal is attacked is an animal that had to be killed due to human ignorance. There are signs up for reasons.
We Are Friendly
In Montana everyone is friendly. You heard of southern hospitality. Well, in Montana you are welcomed no matter your color, religion, sex, or whatever floats your boat. We welcome with open arms and not afraid to compliment. We will walk right up to you and tell you how beautiful you look. However, Montanans love their space. We are not touchy-feely.
More Cows Than People
Montana is one of the biggest states in the continental United States, but Montana barely makes the million people mark for the whole entire state. So, when you think about it there are more cows than people. Traveling from one city to another can take hours. That being said make sure where you are traveling because there aren’t many places to stop for services. This isn’t big city living. So plan accordingly.
The Unabomber
Although not really a good thing to be proud of, Montanans well always point out that the Unabomber lived in Montana. We really don’t make the news. So we get where we can.
Evil Kenevil
Another famous person many people from Montana like to point out is Evil Kenevil. He was from Butte, Mt and that is something people there take great pride in.
National Parks
There are so many beautiful places to explore in Montana that even in my adulthood I am still finding hidden gems. Glacier National park is one of those places that has to been seen with your own eyes. Photos don’t do it justice. Enjoy Yellowstone National Park where you can see the buffalo roam. There is no shortage of outdoor activities in Montana.
No Sales Tax
Yes, that is right no sales tax. Which I am happy to say is one of the best parts of being in Montana. That means you can go to the Dollar store and actually only pay a dollar. The cost of living is also cheap.
It Gets Cold
Montana can be unpredictable. Montana weather never knows what it wants. From snow to extreme heat. It will be hot one minute and snow the next. I wish I was making this up, but ask anyone that lives there. They will tell you to pack for winter and summer. (Picture below was mid-June in Glacier National Park. It still had snow.)
Outdoors Paradise
If you like the outdoors you will like Montana. There is a number of adventures you can enjoy. From fly fishing, hunting, kayaking, white water rafting, hiking, and much more. The SKY…. BIG SKY is unlimited. If you are not the outdoors type of person Montana might not be a state you want to visit. If you are timid there is swimming in the hot springs, to bird watching, and camping.
Mermaids
Yes, head to the city of Great Falls, Mt (My hometown), and go to the Sip n Dip. There you will be greeted by mermaids. It is a bar, however, during the day you can bring in your children. Also, you can swim in the same pool as the mermaids.

Beautiful pics ❤ I agree with you about wildlife we need to let them live, and admire from a distance.
