13 Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

There are many advantages of using home made remedies. The first one being many of these remedies can be found in your house. With the ever increasing cost of medication. The alternative can slash the cost in half. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is one of those household products that can be very beneficial.  Here are the 13 benefits of Apple cider vinegar.

*I am not a doctor nor do I pretend to be one. All these benefits should be discussed with your primary doctor if you have any serious health issues. ACV and like other items can have a counter interaction to other drugs you might take. So please take heed to the precaution and understand that this is just an option that is available.

So let’s jump right into the benefits of apple cider vinegar.

Benefits

  1. Cleaner and freshener:

Many household cleaning products are full of nasty chemicals which are not only dangerous to people, but also to the environment. A great alternative is ACV. Adding ACV to a spray bottle you can clean windows, counter tops, and more. The ratio I use is 2:1.

  2. Skin Care:

Apply ACV to a cotton ball once and night and once in the morning before applying moisturizer. This helps regulate the pH in the skin. Making it smoother and helps fade away scars and age spots.

  3. Hair Care:

Adding ACV a few times a week to your hair will help nourish not only the hair but the scalp. ACV protects against split ends and helps get rid of dandruff.

  4. Wart Removal:

Soak a cotton ball in ACV and apply directly on the wart. To secure the cotton ball in place add a bandage. Best results if you leave it on over night.

  5. Sunburns:

Summer is approaching which means people will be out enjoying outdoor activities. The sun will be out full force. Sunburns can be a real drag on a nice day out on the beach and worse when the skin is peeling. To avoid the itching, burning, and the peeling. Add ACV to the sunburn. Another method is to add a cup of ACV to a bath and soak for about 10-20 minutes.

  6. Whitens Teeth:

Using ACV as a mouthwash can remove stains on the teeth caused by tobacco, coffee, and other teeth-staining agents.

  7. Aftershave:

Leave your skin feeling smooth after you have shaved. Applying ACV as an aftershave can help avoid redness, rashes, and dry skin. A great alternative for those with sensitive skin.

  8. Weight Loss:

There is a buzz going around the ACV can be used as a weight loss supplement. You have seen it on Dr. Oz, Time Magazine, and also the young lady from Harvard. By adding 2 teaspoons of ACV to 16 oz of water helps kick start your metabolism. I personally have done this and lost 10 lbs in less than a month. I do recommend however to take it first thing in the morning and with warm water and a splash of lemon juice to cut the bitter taste. Here are some ways it helps with weight loss.

  • Increases metabolism

  • decreases body fat

  • increase weight loss

  • maintains body pH

  • detox

  • helps with infection

  • decrease appetite

  • increases energy levels

  • decreases blood sugar

  1. Reduces heartburn:

Research has shown that ACV can restore the acid levels in the stomach with just a small teaspoon.

  2. Treats yeast infections:

This can be very painful and many OTC medicine is not fast acting. Using ACV as an alternative can fight candida infection and can be taken as a preventive. By adding ACV as a tonic to water.

  3. Reduces Allergy Symptoms:

ACV helps cleanse the lymphatic system by breaking down mucus. ACV reduces sinus congestion which can cause headaches and sore throats.

  4. Sore throat:

As mentioned above ACV can reduce mucus. ACV has antibacterial properties which can smooth a sore throat.

  5. Lower Cholesterol:

Research has shown that ACV can reduce the bad cholesterol levels in the body. A Japanese study showed that taking 15 ml of ACV daily can decrease blood sugar. Which promotes weight loss and proper blood flow.

Apple cider vinegar is a great household product and very affordable. If you know of any great use for ACV please comment below. I would love to hear what other benefits might be out there.

Until next time sweets,

Amanda xoxo

I tried the whitening and I was impressed with it. I drink coffee o my teeth get stained. I have tried baking soda but decided to try ACV for a week before I posted. I was amazed. I might switch up between baking soda and ACV throughout the week.
