Sunshine Blogger Award: My Acceptance Blog

I would like to announce how excited I am to accept the Sunshine Blogger Award from the one and only The Cappuccino Traveler.  A fellow blogger from my Facebook group Blogging With A Purpose.  When I first started blogging. My main focus was writing. Getting my thoughts out there. Little did I know that people would be interested in what I had to say.  Within 6 months a niche change I can happily say I have found my place in the blogging world. So, when Crystal from The Cappuccino Traveler nominated me. I was thrilled and honored.

This award came just in time as I was taking a short break to collect new ideas and thoughts. As this award affirms my place in the blogging world and gave me the motivation to get right back to work. It also reminds me that I don’t have to change. That I am doing right by the blogging community and staying true to myself and to my audience.

The Sunshine Award is given by other bloggers. Bloggers that show creativity, passion, positivity, and hard work. Once a blogger is nominated they must write a brief blog in which they:

1. Thank the blogger that nominated them.

My Sunshine Award Question

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I have been a blogger for little over 6 months. I started out as a makeup and hair blogger and switched to travel.

2. What made you want to start a blog?

I loved to write and share stories with others. So when I came across Blogger platform I was hooked. I began writing. I did this for about 3 months and I didn’t get any views. So over the course of a few more months of researching how to blog I was able to get a blog running and never looked back.

3. What do I hope to accomplish with your blog?

I hope to encourage other families to travel the world. No matter the family size or budget. There are places to go with a small budget. I also want to share the experiences of what it is like for an African American family that travels all over the US and aboard. There is not that many that represent People of Color and travel. However, this is not my main focus. The focus is family. How can I help others no matter the skin color to get out and explore the world.

4. What is your favorite coffee?

I am not much of a coffee drinker as it tends to cause undesirable stomach issues. However, I do have a guilty pleasure at Starbucks and that is the white moco frappucino.

5. What id your favorite hobby?

Travel, I do this every chance I get. Even if it is local. My family and I discover new hidden gems all around us in our state of Louisiana.

6. Name a famous person you would love to meet?

Sandra Bullock. She has always fascinated me as an actress. She is not only charming on screen but off screen.

7. How many siblings do you have?

I am the only child

8. If you could only take one thing from your home, what would it be?

My family, They are not replaceable. everything in my home is materialistic items. Hold no value other than the photos.

9. Favorite way to relax at night?

Netflix and chill. Netflix is my distraction from all distractions. This has caused some laziness as well.

10. The person in your family that inspires you the most?

My grandpa. He is such a gentleman. He would give the shirt off his back for you no questions asked. When I was growing up he would take on rides with him to feed families. Delivering food baskets from the Salvation Army. These actions made me the person I am today.

11. What do you most want to be known for?

A kind heart. In a world of internet trolls (bullies) and lost souls. I want to be remembered as the one that persevered in the eyes of evil. That no task was to big and I did it with a smile and kind heart.
