Traveling With Pets: Pet Friendly

August 29, 2017

Pets are part of the family and many pet owners would not consider leaving their furry friends at home or with someone else. When considering traveling with your pet you need the right kind of accommodation that caters to both the pet and the pet owner. There are several websites to help you search for pet-friendly accommodations such as Bring Fido, and Pet-Friendly Hotels, and 6 Best Pet-Friendly Hotels In Las Vegas. Here are a list of top pet-friendly lodging, beaches, restaurants, and airlines.

**I may earn some cash from the companies mentioned in this post. That being said,  I only recommend products that I’ve used and loved! I Thank you for your support. Read full disclosure here.

p style=”text-align: center;”>When searching for lodging always call ahead of time to make sure they accept pet and if there is a fee, weight, and breed restrictions.

Many hotels offer accommodations for your furry babies. Some may charge a fee, while others don’t. Make sure you confirm with the hotel before you book. Also, make sure you understand the rules when you bring your pet along.

Everyone likes to soak up the sun, even man’s best friend. Beaches are a great way to get out and exercise. However, many beaches prohibit dogs. There are still a few out there that don’t mind your furry friend joining in on the fun.

We all have to stop and grab a bite to eat while traveling. Leaving your dog in the car is frowned upon these days and temperatures can change while your dog is in the car waiting for you to return. To avoid this opt into a restaurant that allows animals to join you.  You no longer have to leave Fido in the hot car while you enjoy some food.

  • The Dog Bar
    • Charlotte, NC
  • Norm’s Eatery and Ale House
    • Seattle, WA
  • Sail Pavillion on the Boardwalk

Airlines do not have good wrap when it comes to transporting animals.  Lately, you hear how inhumane they treat your little pet friends. However, there are still great airlines that take care of your pet. Also, many small animals can ride with you depending on their size. Each airline is different so call ahead before you book your flight. Here is the top list.

  • JetBlue
  • Aegean Airlines
  • Air Canada
  • Alaska Airlines
  • Air France
  • American Airlines
  • Austrian Airlines

There are other airlines that offer pet transfers, although I chose these few as the top due to customer reviews.

Traveling now can be easy when you travel with your pet friends. It is now just a click away from pet paradise. Want more pet traveling topics. Stay tuned for riding in cars with pets and airline travel.

wish it was easier to travel with pets to and from the UK. If you’re using the ferry to mainland Europe then its doable but otherwise our pets have to go in the hold of a plane ?

oh, that is not fun. I know many smaller dogs can be boarded with passengers here, while others have to be sent to cargo for shipping. A very scary thing for animals to go through. I have never flew with my dog overseas and that would be an interesting topic.

great info. I dont have pets but someone just asked me how to travel with their dog and I had no idea. I get that it can be a challenge but I am glad that so many businesses make accomadations for our four legged friends

Yes, I was asked this a week ago so I went out and did a little digging. I only knew of 2 hotels that took pets and that was it as we take our dog from time to time with us. I was surprised myself with so many hotels, restaurants, and beaches. There is plenty more I didn’t want to have a huge list.

I have to admit, I haven’t yet traveled with my dog. I just never wanted the hassle. This makes me think it may be more doable than I imagined.

We travel with Bailey all the time. In the car never on a flight yet. But she sometimes is better behaved than the children. She is good when we travel.

I wish I could have a pet, it’s not really possible where I live and it’s a nightmare to take a pet home to my country. Also not fair on the poor animal the amount of time they need to be in quarantine ?

Oh, that’s too bad. I do understand. The longest I have ever kenneled my dog was 3 days and I was miserable.

Yes, I hate leaving my dog behind. The only time we do so is when we are on a cruise. We are able now to watch a live video of her at all times at the place we board her at. Which gives us a piece of mind that she is ok. Another great part is the care and what she can have there while she stays. Other than that she is with us on our trips.
